Import a Canny JSON export through a dry-run preview, then run it as many times as you like — re-runs are idempotent.

What the importer does

  1. dry-run preview before any write
  2. idempotent re-runs (safe to import twice)
  3. automatic status mapping to Strataboard statuses
  4. silent one-identity author resolution

Entities imported

  • boards
  • posts
  • votes
  • comments
  • users
  • authors

Authors resolve silently to one Strataboard identity, and Canny statuses map automatically to Strataboard statuses.

Known limits

  • file attachments are not imported
  • Canny changelog entries are not imported
  • there is no live two-way Canny API sync

Strataboard’s strongest fit is where you want evidence attached to prioritization and a loop that closes automatically — not just a faster board. If you need a feature Canny has that Strataboard does not yet, the importer limits above state exactly what that is today.
